Dr. Cody Commander is a Clinical & Sport Psychologist, and a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) with the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (AASP). He is the owner of an interdisciplinary group private practice, Commander Counseling & Wellness. He is the former Director of Sport Psychology at the University of Oklahoma Athletics department, where he worked for 12 years.
Dr. Commander works with various professional athletes and organizations, Olympic athletes and teams, collegiate athletes and programs, and elite youth athletes. He consults with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and was the Mental Health Officer for Team USA for the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo. He is a former Board Member of the Oklahoma Psychological Association and continues to serve in leadership positions in various professional organizations and frequently presents at national professional conferences.

Areas of clinical focus include psychological testing, sport psychology, relational distress, anxiety disorders, ADHD, learning disorders, eating disorders, and trauma. His dissertation was on computerized cognitive training on individuals with ADHD and he continues to conduct assessment research on trauma disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorder. He is also the creator of Peregrine, an integrated report writing software for testing psychologists.

Dr. Commander received his doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Wright State University and completed his doctoral internship at Ball State University Counseling Center. He received his master's degree in counseling psychology and bachelor's degree in psychology at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where he played collegiate tennis and held leadership positions in several student organizations.
